At first, the narrator didnt like the idea of her partner getting pregnant and herself being a mother. She had doubts but Norma was able to persuade her to the idea and they began planning it out. They searched for a sperm donor, bought baby clothes and items and attended childbirth classes as preparation. The narrator recounted the difficulties she had experienced during Normas pregnancy. She needed to face the hormonal instability of her partner, the whims and tantrums, including the additional chores she needed to do because either Norma didnt want to do it or was not allowed to do it.
